Caring with Confidence - End of Life
Practical help and support for carers of people nearing the end of life.
Omega is delivering the end of life aspect of the government funded Caring with Confidence programme. The programme, which was developed for carers by carers working with specialist support, is a flexible skills and knowledge framework designed to help carers feel better equipped to cope with everyday situations. Our aim is to help carers, and the people they care for, improve their health and well being during a difficult period of their lives.
Carers in the Midlands are to be the first in the country to benefit from these end of life - focussed sessions. Omega is scheduled to begin work in other areas very soon.
Through the programme, carers can:
- take part in free local group sessions
- complete self-study workbooks
- access online sessions
or a combination of all three.
There are eight group sessions you can choose from, depending on your situation, five are aimed at carers of people nearing the end of life and three for when the person you care for has passed away. To get started, sign up to one of the Finding You Way sessions and then choose to do one or more of the other sessions.
The sessions - for carers of people nearing the end of life:

Focus groups
To help Omega deliver what carers want in each area, we are looking to establish informal carers' focus groups. The feedback we gather from these groups will play an important role in shaping the programme we deliver in each area. Focus group involvement will not entail a heavy workload. If you are interested in taking part, please get in touch.
