Thomas Memery- Development Director
Tom Memery is an experienced senior manager committed to continuous improvement and raising standards in the Third Sector. He has a longstanding interest in eradicating poverty and encouraging talented young people to reach their potential.
Prior to joining Omega he was involved in the management of an award winning social enterprise helping members of BME communities and others, who are sometimes difficult to reach, to start their own businesses.
Margaret Clitheroe- Finance Manager
Margaret has worked in business and finance for over 20 years, spending 12 years with Bakelite Polymers . She began her career at the Prudential Assurance Company in London before moving to Shropshire.
Margaret went on to study Business and Finance at Leek University. She likes to spend her leisure time walking. Margaret is a keen cook and enjoys entertaining she also likes to travel and attend the theatre. She is married with 3 children and 1 granddaughter.
Phil Morris- Senior Project Manager
Phil joined Omega in March 2009 after 23 years as a Civil Servant. His background is in administration, project management and stakeholder engagement within the environmental field and he has worked all over the country.
He views the move to the charitable health sector as the next worthwhile challenge in his varied career. He is especially pleased to have moved to Shropshire where he has enjoyed exploring the hills and lanes for many years on his annual cycling holidays.
Janet Wood- Project Manager
From her own life experiences Janet is very supportive of what the company are trying to achieve. Janet has worked in the office environment for most of her working life in various secretarial / administration roles. She is married with two daughters. On a personal note, Janet has a passion for the outdoors and is no happier than when in the hills and mountains walking with friends. She has a love of nature and open spaces. For several years Janet worked voluntarily running both a Brownie unit and a Guide unit and during this time gained both camp and pack holiday licenses.
Stephanie Waters- Project Manager
In 2003 Stephanie went travelling and it is from this experience that she decided where her career path would lead. Developing her skills and abilities for the voluntary sector, Stephanie is very close to achieving a degree in International Studies. In her spare time, Stephanie plays netball on a regular basis and likes to spend time with her family and two dogs.
Stephanie is very keen to learn and uses her holidays abroad to gain knowledge about different cultures and causes. Stephanie is really enthusiastic about contributing to the important work that Omega does.
Megan Greenhalgh- ADA Project Coordinator
Megan has spent quite a bit of time in third world countries such as Ethiopia, Cambodia and Nepal. Whilst out there she worked with voluntary organisations to help children with HIV/AIDS.
In doing this she decided that she wanted a career working with charities and consequently started working at Omega. She likes where Omega is heading and is excited to see what we will achieve in the future.
Gavin Martin - Project Administrator
Gavin worked for retailer Woolworths for six years until the company's closure in 2009. He has an aptitude for media and communication, holding a first class degree in Film and Television Studies from The University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Gavin began work for Omega as a volunteer in August and became a full member of staff in December. In his spare time, he roams the country in a camper van solving mysteries.

Margaret Gallagher - Project Manager
Margaret is an Australian who came with her husband to live in the UK in 1994. She has qualifications in Psychology and has worked in the social care field for the last 20 years in Australia, Wales and London. She has directly supported people and their carers with a wide range of disabilities and long term conditions. She has also developed and run services in the voluntary sector and for social services. Margaret also has personal experience as a carer - for her mother and her late husband. She is very excited to be part of the Omega Caring with Confidence team in working to inform and empower carers to have more control over their situation and their ability to cope.

Annie Baker
Annie is a Psychotherapist with experience of working in Private Practice, NHS, Education and currently for a hospice where she works with palliative care patients and their families. She also facilitates a Drop in Service and runs training courses on Bereavement and Loss. She has a commitment to empowering others using an extensive range of skills and knowledge acquired through development courses and Life experience. To balance the demands of her work she frequently has 'fun' by challenging herself through her charity fund raising endeavours with events such as Abseiling, Trekking and Sky Diving.
Janet Bliss

Originally trained as a social worker, Janet established a theatre-in-education company running workshops on disability awareness. A qualified counsellor, she has worked as a volunteer in HIV/AIDS, bereavement and sexual abuse projects. For eight years Janet worked in International Development, running preparation workshops for professionals taking up voluntary placements in Africa. She has more recently been working with The Prince's Trust national training team developing training materials for staff.
Jan Donnelly
Jan Donnelly, originally from Liverpool, has been based in the south for the last 20 years, working in Youth Services, Community Education and Social Services. She has been supporting people with learning disabilities to have a say in shaping their lives through Training and Advocacy. Over the last 10 years Jan has co-ordinated a team of trainers with disabilities teaching social work students and support staff in South East London. Jan lives on a narrow boat with her partner and recently moved it from London to the North West where she is now based. As well as her boating interest, Jan enjoys a wide range of hobbies.
Jane Hunt

Jane is an ex-Business Manager for an international chemical company, running 3 product lines in Europe. She has first hand carer experience. Jane also has excellent communication and presentation skills.
Louise Jackson
Having graduated from the University of Manchester with BSc (hons) Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry, Louise began her working life in the pharmaceutical industry. After an extended period travelling, Louise took a career change and began working for a national health charity. Most recently she has worked for the NHS, delivering Self Management Programmes for people living with long term health conditions and their carers. In her spare time, Louise enjoys the outdoors and travelling.
Maggie Kristiansen
Maggie is a complementary practitioner with 20 years experience. Her present role at a hospice is working with individuals and their carers. Currently studying Public Health at Edge Hill University, her spare time is spent helping to run a voluntary women’s group and paddling for a Dragon Boat team.
Ann Lake
Ann was previously a Secretary to the Lead Cancer Nurse at Dudley Group of Hospitals and progressed to Secretary to the Associate Nurse Director. Currently working as the User Involvement Facilitator for Greater Midlands Cancer Network.
Fiona Mallinson
Originally trained as a teacher, Fiona has enjoyed over 20 years working in the community and voluntary sector supporting the development of a wide range of groups, projects and enterprises. She is a qualified counsellor and spent 2 years as a volunteer in a hospital-based counselling service. She is currently studying for a Diploma in Life Coaching and in her spare time enjoys walking and meditation.
Tania Mathias
Tania lives in Hampton Wick, with her husband and she works for a medical charity in London. She spent her childhood in the borough, in Barnes, where her love of the Thames and river birds began. Much of her work as a medical doctor has been spent abroad, including with the United Nations. She is also a trained actress and award winning amateur documentary film maker. After much travelling and living out of a suitcase Tania is now based in Hampton Wick, where she is a local school governor of St John the Baptist Junior School, a member of the Hampton Wick Association and The Teddington Society. She is particularly interested in the environment, health and social care.
Jackie Murphy
Jackie is trained as a RGN (Registered General Nurse). For the past 8 years she has been a Sister in the Haematology Day Unit at Shrewsbury Hospital. She has extensive experience of working with people suffering with life threatening disease and supporting patients and carers through treatment.
Jackie Taylor
Jackie has worked across the public and voluntary sector with people with learning disabilities, young people and those with mental health issues. She has taught psychology and literacy and undertaken counselling. She currently supports carers groups, facilitating their involvement in partnership working with statutory bodies. She enjoys walking, family life and “allotmenteering”.
Wendy Thompson
Wendy has recently retired from her role as Team Leader of the Hamar Help and Support Centre, Shrewsbury, a support service for people with cancer and other serious illnesses, and their carers. Wendy trained as a RGN, BSc in Health Studies and gained subsequent qualifications in counselling.
Jill Tiernan
Jill has had a long career working in the Health and Social sector for Staffordshire County Council, including a secondment to Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust as the Lead Manager for Older People. Currently a Joint Commissioning Officer for carers.
Wendy Weavin
An ex-civil servant with management qualifications, after 30 years Wendy made a complete career change. In 2008 she was accredited as a British Humanist Association celebrant. Also a serving magistrate for 12 years, and now trained to take the Chair, in 2008 Wendy also completed the Awareness of Bereavement Course with CRUSE and now regularly provides grief counselling.
