Jane HuntJane Hunt

Trained as a microbiologist, Jane worked as European Business Manager for a global chemical company. Taking a “get out of jail“ package in 2009 she made a career change and re-trained as a Facilitator/Coach accredited to deliver the Caring with Confidence (CwC) programme developed on behalf of the Department of Health. Jane further extended her skills and now also delivers Living Well courses for another charity. Helping others to feel more confident, healthier and empowered is her most rewarding achievement.



Maggie KristiansenMaggie Kristiansen

Twenty years experience in complementary practice. Presently engaged in hospice work with individuals and their carers. Studying Public Health at Edge Hill University.




Helen Harris

Retired from her post as Specialist MND Nurse, Omega continues to consult with Helen on MND and assistive technology.  Helen is also one of our leading social fundraisers, including organising a Salsa Night in Shrewsbury to raise funds for the Omegas MND iPad Appeal.



Jill TiernanJill Tiernan

Extensive career working in the Health and Social Sector for Staffordshire County Council, including a secondment to Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust as the Lead Manager for Older People. Currently a Joint Commissioning Officer for carers.


Lisa MaloneyLisa Barnett

I bring previous experience in admin and charity fundraising to my new role providing admin support for our carers group. Although every carer experience is different, I also bring personal experience of caring for my parents as well as professional knowledge from my current work as a speech and language therapist with people with long-term neurological conditions.


Chrissie Harris

Chrissie Harris

Chrissie studied geography at Durham University. She has extensive experience working in a variety of roles supporting care-givers in Worcestershire, most recently working closely with GP surgeries as a Carer Support Advisor. She is an accredited Facilitator and has delivered Caring with Confidence programmes since 2009. She has personal experience of being a family carer and is committed to empowering, informing and providing appropriate support through her work.


Maureen Campbell Maureen Campbell

I have been the co-ordinator of the Zion City Tabernacle Meeting Point Support Group since 2013.  I have worked in the care field for over 20 years and I am passionate about helping people. I love working with the carergivers group and look forward to continuing working towards helping those who commit themselves to helping others.



Emma HicksonEmma Hickson

Emma has spent many years working in healthcare both during and since completing a psychology degree. For Emma, working to help various people in numerous settings from residential and nursing homes, people’s homes and in the community is extremely rewarding and dynamic. Connecting and supporting others is her passion. Emma is also a keen traveller and has enjoyed working abroad whilst sharing her hobbies of yoga and massage with others.


Claire PurcellClaire Purcell

Claire has spent many years working in healthcare settings. She cares passionately for the elderly and is committed to Omega’s work tackling loneliness and shares our aspiration that no one should be left to feel frightened and alone in later life.

Qualifying as an RGN in Adult Nursing at the University of Nottingham in 2003, Claire has worked within trauma and orthopaedic departments at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, cared for young people with physical and learning difficulties, managed a team of nurses in an agency and worked as assistant manager at a home for people with dementia.

Claire’s hobbies include baking and sugar-craft, gardening - growing fruit and vegetables, reading and playing games.

Leonardo RomanelliLeonardo Romanelli

Leonardo was born in Puglia, southern Italy. He grew up on his parents’ fruit farm where he helped his family to grow grapes, peaches, apricots, plums and olives.

Leo is an overtly compasssionate, up-beat, yet reflective individual who established his love of nature in early childhood. His eyes were often drawn towards and beyond the classroom window as he admired the sky and the natural world.

Taking advantage of a scheme organised by the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms movement he seized the opportunity to travel widely for ten years as a WWOOFer.

During a three month trip to Japan Leo wrote Wu Wei Journey an acclaimed travel book.

He has lived in Shrewsbury for over five years and works as an Italian tutor, life-coach and as a Champissage (Indian head massage) practitioner.

Leo has served Omega as a volunteer learning co-ordinator, he has suported community fundraising activity and delivered Avanti Insieme lively, Italian conversation sessions.

In his spare time he enjoys playing the Hangpan.
