Jane Hunt

Bereavement Programme Co-Facilitator & Chatterbox Induction Trainer

Trained as a microbiologist, Jane worked as European Business Manager for a global chemical company. Taking a “get out of jail“ package in 2009 she made a career change and re-trained as a Facilitator/Coach accredited to deliver the Caring with Confidence (CwC) programme developed on behalf of the Department of Health. Jane further extended her skills and now also delivers Living Well courses for another charity. Helping others to feel more confident, healthier and empowered is her most rewarding achievement.

Chrissie Harris

Bereavement Programme Co-Facilitator & Chatterbox Induction Trainer

Chrissie studied geography at Durham University. She has extensive experience working in a variety of roles supporting care-givers in Worcestershire, most recently working closely with GP surgeries as a Carer Support Advisor. She is an accredited Facilitator and has delivered Caring with Confidence programmes since 2009. She has personal experience of being a family carer and is committed to empowering, informing and providing appropriate support through her work.

Gillian Grason Smith

Carers4Carers Co-ordinator (Volunteer)

Gillian established Carers4Carers in 2012 after caring for a loved one.  The group became a member of the Omega Network of Meeting Point Support Groups in 2013.  Gillian devotes a lot of her time to running the group, and raising funds through her craft projects.  She has also consulted on a new app for carer support.

Lisa Barnett

Carers4Carers Assistant Co-ordinator 

Lisa brings previous experience in admin and charity fundraising to her role as Assistant Co-ordinator and Fundraiser for the Carers4Carers monthly support group. With personal experience as a caregiver for her parents, Lisa also brings her expertise as a speech and language therapist for people with long-term neurological conditions to the group. 

Maureen Campbell

Zion City Tabernacle Meeting Point Support Group Co-ordinator

Maureen has been co-ordinator of the Zion City Tabernacle Meeting Point Support Group since 2013.  Maureen has worked in the field of care for over 20 years and is passionate about helping people, particularly those who commit themselves to caring for and supporting others.


Claire Purcell

Shrewsbury Bereavement Friendship Group Co-ordinator (Volunteer)

Claire has spent many years working in healthcare settings. She cares passionately for the elderly and is committed to Omega’s work tackling loneliness and shares our aspiration that no one should be left to feel frightened and alone in later life.  Claire co-founded and helps to deliver the Shrewsbury Bereavement Friendship Group.

Helen Page-Croft

Shrewsbury Bereavement Friendship Group Co-ordinator (Volunteer)

Helen began volunteering with Omega as a Chatterbox telephone befriender in 2016.  She has since co-founded the Shrewsbury Bereavement Friendship Group, bringing her experience as a bereavement counsellor to give those experiencing loss a friendly and informal place to share their feelings.  In 2020, Helen accepted the role of Patron.  Read her full bio here.

Sue Pearson

Shrewsbury Bereavement Friendship Group Co-ordinator (Volunteer)

Sue has volunteered with Omega since 2019, across a variety of roles.  As a former GP surgery counsellor and Occupational Therapist, Sue was keen to help support those dealing with loss.  Read her full bio here.

Helen Harris

Motor Neurone Disease Family Support Programme Volunteer

Retired from her post as Specialist MND Nurse, Omega continues to consult with Helen on MND and assistive technology.  Helen is also one of our leading social fundraisers, including organising a Salsa Night in Shrewsbury to raise funds for the Omegas MND iPad Appeal.




Ricardo Alonso

Hablemos Espanol Spanish Conversation Group Teacher (Volunteer)

Richardo began volunteering with Omega several years ago, leading Spanish conversation in our weekly community learning group, Hablemos Espanol.  After returning to his home in Burgos, Spain, Ricardo continues to deliver the language session via Skype each week.
