The Omega Make Job Search Work Project

About the project

We employ people who would otherwise find it difficult to secure conventional employment. Our programme of advanced job search and interview skills will help job-seekers, especially migrants and those with disabilities who are yet to fulfil their true potential. This project will run parallel to the therapeutic work opportunities (paid and unpaid) upon which we rely to deliver central administrative services and essential project work.

We need to address a pressing unmet need. This will help clients and their families and enable us to recruit and support more volunteers able to make an immediate contribution to our work, including those who are in desperate need of finding paid quickly employment.

How we can help you?

We will provide guidance and ongoing support for anyone looking for paid work, whilst creating opportunities to help you benefit from peer-support. We are particularly keen to work with carers, migrants and those with disabilities who need support to fulfil your true potential. We offer free, confidential advice and support on a wide range of topics, to help you find your way back into work, self-employment, training or education, or help you to secure more worthwhile volunteering opportunities.  Activities will include:

  • Confidence building
  • Presentation skills
  • Marketing skills
  • Job targeting
  • CV writing
  • Covering letters
  • Applications forms
  • Accessing other sources of help
  • Job search, including finding hidden vacancies and volunteering opportunities
  • Interview preparation, research and coaching

Running alongside this project is the opportunity for therapeutic work (paid and unpaid).
